SOCIÉTÉ RICARD LIVE MUSIC, partner of the Radio Show

What artist hasn’t aspired to be broadcast constantly by the biggest radio stations? In 2019 the Radio Show is launching “Muzicenter Discovery” in partnership with YACAST, featuring a 250m² stage for a showcase session before a selected target audience of 15 to 20 radio professionals specially invited for the occasion. SOCIÉTÉ RICARD LIVE MUSIC is the first player in the field of musical talent spotting to have confirmed its place in the new “Muzicenter Discovery” area. Three out of the 10 finalists in the SOCIÉTÉ RICARD LIVE MUSIC competition will take part in a private session before selected programme and record label directors and talent act bookers invited as guests. The competition winner will be announced and will perform in a preview on stage at the PARIS RADIO NIGHT private party at Cabaret Sauvage nightclub, on 24 January 2019.

Music at the Radio Show

For three years now, the Radio and Digital Audio Show has hosted, amongst others, the National Convention of Programme Directors of Les Indés Radios. In 2019 this convention will take place on Thursday 24 January at the heart of the Radio Show. Muzicenter Discovery will invite all of the programme directors, talent act bookers, record labels, promoters and editors to come and participate in this new space. “Music is a vital component of radio and digital audio. Stations have a duty to broadcast new material and to develop the role they have always had as a trend-setter. We are at a pivotal moment in terms of the reassessment of music and radio consumption,” Radio Show founder Philippe Chapot explains. “The radio stations are an essential element in promoting artists and increasing the income generated by broadcasting of their work.”

Showcase sessions: great music

The Radio Show already hosts two showcase events every year, before or after the Young Talent competition organized by Rémi Castillo at the Radio Show. The arrival in 2019 of “Muzicenter Discovery” and SOCIÉTÉ RICARD LIVE MUSIC is a mark of the Radio Show’s interest in live music. “We are very happy to be able to meet music industry professionals and programme directors of French-speaking and European radio stations, thanks to the Radio Show. The self-produced artists and groups taking part in our SOCIÉTÉ RICARD LIVE MUSIC competition are still looking for good middlemen to promote them. The Showcase sessions are the best way to show who they really are,” says Pascal Creusot, events director at Société Ricard Live Music. In addition to the private showcase sessions, a big PARIS RADIO NIGHT party will be held at Cabaret Sauvage nightclub on Thursday 24 January 2019, with performances by four artists confirmed, including the winner of the SOCIÉTÉ RICARD LIVE MUSIC award. It will be a unique evening of networking between players of the music industry and the radio industry, the likes of which has not been seen for a long time.

Société Ricard Live throws itself into the venture

SOCIÉTÉ RICARD LIVE MUSIC, the first promoter of musical talent to embark on the adventure of Muzicenter Discovery, has decided to secure its place in this new space for the three days of the Radio Show. Three out of the 10 young talents taking part in the SOCIÉTÉ RICARD LIVE MUSIC competition will perform a session. Every day a new group will perform a private showcase session and will meet radio stations and professionals in a new way of communicating and networking, to get themselves better known with the aim of being played more. The winner of the SOCIÉTÉ RICARD LIVE MUSIC competition will be announced at the PARIS RADIO NIGHT party at Cabaret Sauvage nightclub on Thursday 24 January, during which this artist will perform a 30-minute session.

About the Radio and Digital Audio Show
During the past 15 years or so, the Radio and Digital Audio Show - admission to which has remained free - has emerged as the only annual gathering devoted entirely to the radio industry. The event, which is still taking place in the world’s most beautiful city, has previously been held in such prestigious locations as Porte de Versailles, Tapis Rouge and Centre Étoile Saint-Honoré, before taking up residence at the Grande Halle de la Villette.
Taking part in the Radio and Digital Audio Show guarantees the opportunity to meet around 7,000 professionals and executives, primarily from France, but also from around 50 other countries. In an atmosphere that is always very congenial, the Radio and Digital Audio Show provides a unique opportunity to meet prospective clients, make new contacts and invigorate your network. Its structure and the original layout of the booths give all exhibitors great visibility for promoting their products and services while dealing with a continuous, uninterrupted flow of registered visitors.

About SOCIÉTÉ RICARD LIVE MUSIC
Over the course of several years, Société Ricard Live Music has strengthened its position by creating its own support mechanism for emerging artists: the Société Ricard Live Music Award. Much more than just a “springboard for young talent”, this competition has given special, privileged support to artists such as Twin Twin, Namasté, Mrs Good, Colours in The Street and Two Bunnies In Love, helping to enhance their development at all levels:
•    Live: the competition winner goes out to meet the public on the Société Ricard Live Music tour and appears at many festivals partnered by Société Ricard Live Music, such as the Francofolies de la Rochelle and Garorock;
•    In the studio: the competition winner is assisted by the Société Ricard Live Music team with the recording, production, distribution and promotion of his or her EP. In particular, a press representative deals with the promotional work, while a project manager is appointed for a year, with the special role of supporting the group in this work, similar to that of a record label;
•    On a daily basis: the Société Ricard Live Music team works to develop the winner’s career, notably with lessons at the Studio des Variétés music centre, training courses at IRMA (the centre for Contemporary Music Information and Resources), a residency at the Chantier des Francos events venue and free equipment provided by Yamaha.
