History of the European Radio Show



For 15 years now Editions HF have been helping and supporting French radio and its professionals. With their many publications (magazines, books, apps and websites, as well as shows and conventions), the team have been firmly established at the heart of the industry… since 2002.



2002
Beginning of the creation of the Salon de la Radio
at the festival of leading FM radios in Béziers, with Radio Peinard Skyrock. Launch of the Voiles
d’Or competition recognising radios’ achievements.

2003 à 2007
Birth of the RADIO acronym, standing for Rendez-vous Annuel des Décideurs Indépendants
des Ondes [Annual Convention of Independent Radio Decisionmakers], within the framework of
the SIEL show at Porte de Versailles in Paris, in collaboration with Reed Expositions France.

2008  à 2011
The show takes on the name of SIEL SATIS Le RADIO and is held at Porte de Versailles, in collaboration with Reed Expositions France, up until the launch of the magazine La Lettre Pro de
la Radio, in September 2011.

2012
Launch of the new-style RADIO, organised by Editions HF alone at the famous Tapis Rouge (Paris, 9th arrondissement) and launch of the website lalettre.pro,in December 2012, which enjoys instant success.

2013
New and final edition of the event to take place under the RADIO name, at Centre Etoile Saint Honoré ;(Paris, 8th arrondissement). Morocco is
the first country to be guest of honour.

2014
In February 2014, the RADIO show officially becomes the Salon de la Radio and once again takes place at Centre Etoile Saint-Honoré (Paris, 8th arrondissement). Quebec is the guest of honour.

2015
For the third consecutive year, the Salon de la Radio is held at Centre Etoile Saint-Honoré (Paris,
8th arrondissement). Switzerland is the guest of
honour.

2016  
In view of its growing success, Editions HF, in collaboration with the exhibitors, takes the decision to hold the show at the Grande Halle de
La Villette. Belgium is the guest of honour.

2017
The description European Radio Show is added to
the name, Salon de la Radio. It takes place at the Grande Halle de la Villette from 29 to 31 January.
The UK is the guest of honour. 6,000 visitors attend it.

2018
Third edition of the show to take place at the Grande Halle de la Villette. The Scandinavian countries will be the guest of honour,  with Norway - the first country to switch off FM radio   
flying the flag. More than 6,000 visitors expected.
